Yse's trip to Toronto Zoo on Sunday

On Sunday,  Yse and Maria went to see animals at Toronto Zoo. It was a lovely day outside, and they spent 

entire time walking around.  Here are some photos

Ice Cream Place

Yse discovered a cool ice cream place near our house called Yogurty's!  With a warm weather in Toronto, it is a nice idea to enjoy a cup of ice cream!

Yse's cooking French cuisine!

On several occasions, Yse introduced us to French cooking! She is our mini Julia Child! She taught me how to do a proper salad dressing. Plus, she baked an easy, yet delicious apple pie, made a chocolate mousse, and finally, the king of them all: Le gratin Dauphinois! Basically, if you want to make any dish with a French twist, you need to add two things: cheese and butter! Yse was very disappointed with a poor selection of cheeses in our local grocery store, and I had to explain to her that Canadians only need two types of cheese to survive: cheddar and mozzarella. On Sunday, Denis went to find Roquefort cheese for her, and make her happy!

Trip to Niagra Falls

On Sunday we went  to see beautiful Niagra Falls close to US border (http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/. The Falls are a historic attraction, and just plain magnificent to look at. You can always see a double rainbow playing in the sun! Here are some pictures.

 After walking around the waterfall we headed for lunch and entertainment

School trip to Outdoor Center

Yse's class went on a trip to BORC (http://www.yrdsb.edu.on.ca/page.cfm?id=SOR000001) Burlington Outdoor Recreation Centre. She learned about Canadian Nature, and took lots of photos, including one of her new friend Yael.

snowtubing

Today we went  to try snowtubing in Barrie, Ontario (skisnowvalley.com) . The tubes go down the big mountain at the speed of 80 km an hour! It was really cold today, and going down the hill fast made our faces turn into ice. But it was so much fun! We had a blast. Two friends joined us today: Anna from Maria's school, and Leila from Sonia's class.

First day of school

Before starting school Yse was very nervous, especially about her English. However, after the first day she was no longer anxious, but getting more and more confident. Plus she started making new friends, and children at school are all excited to have Yse in their class!

These one are the pictures from our trip downtown Toronto to "climb" the CN Tower. Lots of fun. Yse loved the view of the lake and the city from the clouds. She was not even afraid to step on the glass floor!
